Project management training with an education voucher

Learn project management and business analysis live online, with Excel, Power BI and AI workflows. Fundable with an education voucher, free advice.

Planning projects, improving processes and supporting change: that is what this area is about. The programmes are for people who want to work in project teams, in organisational development or at the interface between business departments and data. All three programmes have in common that you work with common tools such as Excel, get to know AI workflows and automation, and complete your own portfolio project at the end.

The programmes differ mainly in level. “Project management for beginners” suits newcomers with a STEM degree or first experience with Excel or project management software and takes 3 to 5 months full time, depending on the variant. “Project management” and “Business analyst: business and process analysis” are intermediate and add SQL, relational databases and reporting with Power BI. The business analyst programme also focuses on process modelling. Depending on the variant, change management, Microsoft Copilot or strategic AI management are added. Classes are taught live online, full time or part time.

All three programmes are AZAV certified and can be funded with an education voucher (Bildungsgutschein) under § 81 SGB III. If you are employed, funding under the Qualifizierungschancengesetz is also possible. Funding is decided by your employment agency (Agentur für Arbeit), since 2025 also if you are supported by a Jobcenter. At the end you receive a certificate from the training provider for each completed training. Our advice is free, and we work out with you which level and which variant fit your background and your career goal.

What to look for when choosing a course

  • Be honest about your level: “Project management” and the business analyst programme expect a degree with maths, statistics or programming, or similar work experience. Without that background, the beginners course is usually the better choice.
  • Plan for live classes: lessons take place live online at fixed times. Check that you can reliably keep to these times.
  • Choose the variant on purpose: change management, Microsoft Copilot or strategic AI management change the content and duration. Think about which focus fits your career goal.
  • Plan the duration realistically: depending on programme and variant, expect 3 to 7 months full time or 7 to 13 months part time. The duration has to match your approved voucher.

Frequently asked questions about this area

How is project management for beginners different from project management?

The beginners course is shorter and aimed at people with a STEM degree or first practice with Excel or project management software. The “Project management” programme is intermediate, takes 6 to 7 months full time depending on the variant, and adds SQL, relational databases and reporting with Power BI. We are happy to work out with you which level suits you.

What does a business analyst do compared with project management?

Project management focuses on planning and steering projects. A business analyst examines processes and requirements in organisations, models processes and bases recommendations on data. That is why the programme combines business analysis and process modelling with SQL, Power BI and AI workflows. Both paths share many tools, but the perspective is different.

What qualification do I receive in this area?

You receive a certificate from the training provider for each completed training. Because the programmes consist of several trainings, you can name individual skills such as Excel, SQL or Power BI in your applications. The portfolio project also shows what you have done in practice. As far as we know, exams by external certification bodies are not a fixed part; ask us if this matters to you.
